DESCRIPTION:

Phoenix Total Well-Being was a small, independent health and fitness business based in Claremorris, County Mayo, which offered martial art & fitness classes, shiatsu massage and acupuncture treatments.

Phoenix Active was a specialist retail venture to sell sports supplements from shops based in County Mayo and County Roscommon.

The initial brief to Zetagram* by the client was to create a new retail brand design to aim at serious sports supplement users, bodybuilders and local sportsmen. The name Phoenix Active was suggested for the brand by Zetagram during a consultation discussion.

By building on the main corporate identity, Zetagram took the original Phoenix logo typography and combined this with a simple brand layout using custom-drawn letters that incorporated a plus (+) symbol to represent the supplements aspect of the shop.

The design was bold and clean, and was based on a black background to compliment some of the professional photography to be incorporated into the marketing, as supplied by the manufacturers of the protein supplements.

Aiming at a much smaller target audience, the design work could be much simpler and more specific, and Zetagram could use carefully selected stock imagery where required of general sports people and fitness models.

To promote the new shops, Zetagram designed postcard flyers, stickers, business cards compliments slips, and roll-up banner stand displays to act as point-of-sale.

The exterior signage of the premises was adjusted to incorporate the new retail brand style, and a teardrop pavement flag was designed to attract attention to the new shop.

For an online presence, Zetagram designed a simple XHTML single page website to provide prices and information for the products in stock. As the business developed, an additional section was added to the site using a custom-styled content management system to allow the client to add new product offers and updates as required.
