Bella Lusso was a small, independent start-up, lingerie business based in Balla, County Mayo, which provided larger, plus size bras and lingerie not readily available in high street stores.
Products were distributed locally through a shop in Castlebar, County Mayo, and promoted through parties and planned events. Products were promoted nation-wide through press advertising and TV exposure, and sold through an ecommerce website and printed catalogue orders.
With a brand name already in place, the initial brief to Zetagram* by the client was to design and develop a brand style along the lines of a late forties, early fifties americana pin-up girl.
After competitor research and analysis, Zetagram began collecting old books and magazines, and sourced vintage imagery to use in the promotion of the business.
Despite not being a popular period colour, the client specified purple as being the main colour of the brand, and the use of a Hibiscus flower in the design work.
Using these parameters, Zetagram developed a custom-drawn brand motif of of a pin-up model wearing a modern bra, with a flower in her hair. This was combined with a logotype adapted from a carefully selected font and arranged on the purple background for the full effect.
For day to day business, business cards and letterheads were designed using the brand and an antiqued paper background, which was further extended to HTML4 email stationery backgrounds.
Due to a television appearance and publicity constraints, the custom eCommerce website design was developed in a shortened timeframe to meet the fixed deadlines.
The website was custom adapted from a standard XHTML proprietary eCommerce framework to suit the product range, with custom graphics, copy editing, planning, visuals and template coding by Zetagram.
For offline ordering a series of product catalogues were created by Zetagram using supplied product information and photography, retouched and combined with antiqued paper and 1950s imagery to provide a warm and approachable shopping experience.
For offline marketing and as support tools for the events parties, Zetagram developed a wide range of posters, flyers, postcards, gift vouchers, loyalty card schemes, magazine press advertising, signage and exhibition trade stands.
