Deja Vu was a small, independent start-up pre-loved clothing exchange shop based in Claremorris, County Mayo, which provided used ladies designer clothing for sale and exchange.
The initial brief to Zetagram* by the client was to create and develop a retail brand style around the established name of Deja Vu, which was a play on the nature of the business, reselling pre-loved designer clothing.
After research into other clothing exchanges and viewing the products, decor and shop fittings in store, Zetagram developed the design in line with a modern ladies fashion retail brand.
The developed concept was about renewal, revival and starting afresh in the form of an hourglass, which in turn tied in with the hourglass figure concept of fitted designer clothing. The brand motif arrangement itself was in a decorative ornate style and featured a tailor's dummy as the glass in the hourglass.
The logotype itself was a specially selected font that had a good balance of bold stability with a modern look, while retaining a traditional serif. Added to this the custom accents in heart shapes and warm harmonising colours, the combined result has a luxurious and refined tone when in context.
To provide visual context for the client to view the brand design, it was then applied to a paper carrier bag to be used in the shop, and featured in an ornate baroque frame similar to the decoration in the Claremorris shop.
